I’m Lauren, the “L” of Flying KLK™, I like to say we’re designing a legacy with our ever-developing AQHA Breeding Program.
Oh yeah – the new barns …
I had no idea that it was going to turn into such a to-do, but being a designer by trade, with a very specific vision and not really any inclination to settle (deep breath taken) so stay tuned for updates on this too.
Now on to the cows, Rufus’s first 4 babies were born this year, all of them very beautiful and 3 out of 4 of them, red.
Another very exciting development – Flying KLK™ Mercantile, with our own branded apparel, accessories, home decor and living, American Darling bags and leather goods, including belts, keychains and cuffs, Heaven Scent candles and wax melts, Cowboy Tack headstalls, reins, bits, spurs and spur straps, ***Kimes Jeans, **Lonestar Ropes,Tarter brand gates and panels.
We’re not the biggest operation in town, but we’re dedicated to working hard, designing and producing extraordinary animals and very excited for what the future holds, knowing that only with God is any of it possible.
Romans 8:28 (KJV) And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28, it doesn’t say some things. It says all things.
That verse doesn’t promise that every day goes the way we planned. What it promises is that God takes every piece, the good days, the hard ones, and the ones we don’t yet understand, and works them together.
That’s how we see Flying KLK™.
Each part, each service, they aren’t separate side projects competing for our attention. They’re threads in one piece of work, and we trust God to do the weaving.
So we try to approach all of it the same way, with work done honestly and with care.
Everything we do gets the same attention, the same level of effort, respect and gratitude because it all points not just to our brand, but to God first.
None of this would be possible without him. Not our little piece of land, not the animals, not the people who have believed in us and helped along the way, not the strength to get up and do it today, and the strength to get up and do it all again tomorrow.
We’re called according to his purpose, Flying KLK™ is our way of answering that call.
All of the things, for his glory.
Flying KLK™ is a compilation of “all of the things”, putting to work the interests, creativity and talents that God gave us.
With that, we have a lot to offer, and probably more to come.
But for now – we are building our calves and colts, the mercantile, creative services for ranches, brands, products, businesses and the people who make this life happen, fitness coaching,: strength, condition and nutrition for the live we live and mowing + clearing services.
And, might we getting into roughstock??!
It’s funny how God works, you can pray and pray for something and it doesn’t happen.
Until it does. In his timing.
We’ll keep you updated on “all of the things”.
All of the things, in one place, for God’s purpose.
2026 has been an exciting year — we've added 3 more horses to our ever-developing AQHA breeding program, with 3 more to come next Spring, and 3 more next Fall. Rufus has proven himself this year with his first 4 calves, beautiful color and structure. We're looking forward to increasing our crop next year, and turning his son out with a new set of heifers!!
I am very excited about the Mercantile, where we're curating a mish-mash of inventory, including our very own Flying KLK™ apparel, accessories, home decor and living, Tarter ranch supply and home and living products, Cowboy Tack, Lonestar Ropes, American Darling bags, Red Dirt Hats, Kimes Jeans and Heaven Scent Candles.
Twenty-five years of design work — branding, graphic and web design. A full line of creative services for ranches, brands, products, and the people who make this life happen.
Being ranchy takes a particular level of fitness just to get through the day. Ranchy strength, conditioning and nutrition — for the life you live and the work you actually do, so you're strong enough for whatever the day throws at you, and ready to get up and do it all again tomorrow.
If you have a mower or a tractor and bush hog but you don't have the time, or the desire to run it, my husband can help. Mowing, weedeating, bush hogging. He can also help with fence repair, or putting our round bakes for your cows.
From the barn to the round pen and the pasture, the kitchen to your closet and a trip to town, or for posting across the world and functional ranchy fitness coaching for the live you actually live – Flying KLK™ offers “all of the things” .
After running into one thing after another in trying to find a contractor for our barn expansion, we decided to cut out the contractor all together and go with Seven-Peaks fence and barn for our 20′ x 20′ stall kits.
As I do with things, I drew and doodled for months, designing a next section for the horses. One contractor after another … either crickets or craziness.
Way back at the beginnings of the new barns project we looked at “stall kits” but couldn’t get them the way I wanted them. But after my husband saw some featured on YouTube, I looked again, and after some digging, found these 20′ x 20′ stall kits by Seven-Peaks, which was exactly what I wanted, 14 gauge, 10′ x 6′ panels – 20′ x 20′ stalls.
These kits are customizable, we’re adding a a second gate and a full stall cover.
They have stalls kits, cattle handling systems, round pens, arenas and travel panels and are located in Texas and Arizona.
Romans 8:28 (KJV)
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
